At VAST we are always searching for new products and services to offer our customers. Many of the companies we work with leverage the benefits of Microsoft 365 to run their businesses. We were very interested in Microsoft’s January 2024 announcement regarding their Copilot for Microsoft 365 offering. The tool advertises extensive benefits to businesses with an M365 environment.
Rather than write a typical blog post describing Copilot for M365, we wanted to try something a little different. We decided to let Copilot tell us and you about itself. This exercise gives us a glimpse into the conversational power of Copilot while also providing a list of the product’s benefits.
How Copilot Describes Itself
We asked Copilot to write a blog post for a Microsoft Cloud Partner that explains what Copilot for M365 is, the benefits, and why the January 2024 announcement from Microsoft is significant. Following is Copilot’s answer as it describes itself and how it can help your organization.

This integration provides real-time intelligent assistance, enabling users to enhance their creativity, productivity, and skills. Some of the benefits of using Copilot for Microsoft 365 include:
- Enhanced productivity: Copilot can help you save time and effort by doing the busy work for you. It can generate content, ideas, insights, and more with just a few words or clicks. You can use it to write documents, create presentations, design graphics, compose emails, and more.
- Amplified creativity: Copilot can help you generate text with and without formatting in new or existing documents. It can also create a new presentation from a prompt or Word file, leveraging enterprise templates.
- Improved skills: Copilot can help you learn new skills and improve your existing ones by providing coaching tips and suggestions on clarity, sentiment, and tone, along with an overall message assessment and suggestions for improvement.
In January 2024, Microsoft announced that Copilot for Microsoft 365 is now generally available across all sales channels, including Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) new commerce. Commercial customers with Microsoft 365 E3/E5, Office 365 E3/E5, and Microsoft 365 Business Standard/Business Premium prerequisite base SKUs can purchase the Copilot for Microsoft 365 add-on SKU across all sales channels – CSP, EA, MCA-E, EAS, and direct from Microsoft online. Education customers with Microsoft 365 A3/A5 and Office 365 A3/A5 can purchase through Enrollment for Education Solutions.
